Counselors for Immigration & International Studies (CIS), Inc.’s journey began in 2007 as All Power Staffing Solutions, operating under the name Career Internship Abroad (CIA). This initial focus on assisting Filipinos seeking US visas—including K3, Intra-Corporate, H1B, and H2B—demonstrated an early commitment to navigating complex immigration processes. Within a year, CIA, in partnership with a US law firm, achieved remarkable success, securing visas for nearly 300 Filipinos and establishing a strong foundation for future growth. Beyond immigration, CIA also built expertise in handling successful corporate and family law cases for both Filipino and foreign clients.

The company’s rapid expansion is evident in its strategic diversification. By 2009, CIA had expanded into US cultural exchange programs under the J1 visa, partnering with State Department-accredited firms. This initiative resulted in the deployment of almost 10,000 students to the US between 2008 and 2015, significantly impacting the lives of thousands and fostering cultural exchange on a large scale.

This period of significant growth culminated in 2015 with the rebranding to Counselors for Immigration & International Studies (CIS) and the expansion into Canada and Australia. Focusing on work and study programs, CIS forged partnerships with universities and law firms, facilitating the deployment of thousands more students, many of whom subsequently gained permanent residency or citizenship. CIS continued its success in corporate and family law, providing comprehensive legal services to a growing international clientele.

One notable achievement highlights CIS’s expertise in complex international legal matters: the successful handling of a probate case involving a Filipino spouse and her Canadian husband. The case, involving a holographic will in Quebec, saw CIS, in collaboration with Harvey Law Corporation of Canada, secure a decision naming the Filipina as the sole heir within just six months—a testament to their efficiency and legal acumen.

CIS’s commitment to global reach is underscored by its resilience and adaptability. Following the challenges of the 2020 pandemic, the company strategically expanded into Spain and Germany, forging new collaborations and continuing to provide opportunities for Filipinos to pursue education and careers abroad. This ongoing expansion, coupled with its continued success in corporate and family law, demonstrates a commitment to providing comprehensive and effective services to a diverse international clientele.
